Last week I had a fun class of 2010 session around the Sun Lakes area (near Ephrata/Moses Lake WA) for Justine. She brought a few friends and we walked around the parks and roads. There were plenty of great views and everyone loved the results when we had her proof session earlier this week. Justine like many of our seniors is be getting a great canvas wall portrait of the cliff image above along with plenty of other goodies.

Heather is a Quincy High School student, but for her portraits we went on location to Davenport WA (near Spokane) to a neat old farm owned by the family. No one lives there anymore, but the the location was perfect. The weather had been a bit stormy, but it calmed down in the evening and the remaining clouds gave us some stunning images.
Big props to heather and her hoarse Snickers for doing such a great job. The top image is one of my favorites, but there were so many to choose from. Heather will be getting a senior album so she can show all her poses as well as a one of our canvas Wall Portraits of the image above. It’s going to look great in their home. Taken in Central WA wheat, this is an HDR portrait I made using Photomatix and my Photoshop know how. I like going wide with a cinematic scene that has a plenty of mood but is also simple. I love the motion blur on certain areas of this wheat and the swirling sunset. All that and Sondra in that red dress make this really hit the spot. If you’re planning a session always consider the possibilities. Everyone does not want the same style, but everyone should have something that makes them look great and looks great on the wall as a big beatiful print. I like the style of sessions I do because it’s not about grabbing a portraits quick and going home. I like to get to know my subjects and make something really amazing.

I wanted continue posting some folio designs I’ve done for 2009 seniors. This was a great session I did in Wenatchee for Cam. I printed this as a two page 10×10 leatherette folio. These digital style folio’s are something I use on most sessions now. People think their so much cooler that the traditional folio’s that just have 4×5 the prints inserted. So do I for that matter. I design these with styles I’ve made, and then place the layout using Adobe InDesign. Click for a BIG view… Gav
Camp Zanika is a campground on Lake Wenatchee (near Leavenworth) run by Campfire. Rebecca is in the class if 2009 at Camas High School. Her family owns the Blue Goose Lodge in Oregon. They came up last weekend and we met her mom Lisa at Zanika and got some amazing fall portraits. Rebecca was a bit cold, but she was a trooper and we all had fun.
My wife used to go to camp Zanika when she was younger, and had already met Rebecca and her mom. The funny thing is none of us knew that they contacted us to to Rebecca’s portraits. Small world.
